The flatness of the Great Plains has made me adjust my compass. On the West Coast, I relied on my relationship to the water and the hills to tell which direction I was going. This piece utilizes beads made from Elmer’s glue and pen and ink to honor the peculiarity of the Red River, the only topographically dictated border of the state.
