Stormy Day
The fright and fascination that accompanies tornadoes is new to me. I thankfully have yet to witness one, but have heard countless stories since my arrival in Oklahoma. The majority of them revolve around the events of May 3, 1999, the most devastating day of storms in recent Oklahoma history. This piece, inspired by the swirling sky of Van Gogh’s “Starry Night”, is a map of Moore Oklahoma with a color change to mark the path of the giant tornado that ravaged the city on that day.
